At ActivoGrid we design the power infrastructure of your masterplan from Concept to Detailed Design stage. We can also design for Competitions being part of a wider utilities/infrastructure team.
Tasks and Deliverables
The tasks involved include:
- Develop energy strategy: onsite renewables generation.
- Estimate the energy demand based on energy density benchmarks
- Support coordination with local authorities
- Design power distribution infrastructure at Medium Voltage (MV).
- Design Public Realm distribution strategy at Low Voltage.
These tasks serve to produce the following deliverables:
- Energy Strategy and Infrastructure report (normally part of the Infrastructure>Utilities section).
- MV (11kV, 13.8 or 33kV) routing cables
- Primary Substations sizing and location
- Distribution Substations (MV/LV) sizing and location
- Load schedules to map supply chain for each building and justify estimated Maximum Demand Load at each element: Primary Substation – MV feeder – Distribution Substation – Plot – Building.
- Single Line Diagram detailing assets rating and protection, metering and control devices and networks.
- Phasing of power infrastructure according to development build-out programme.
The output from our design is used by the utilities and infrastructure designer to:
- Make the appropriate allowance of utility plots in consideration with power assets.
- Coordinate utilities rights-of-way.
- Select tie-in points to the site and for each plot/building.
- Coordinate location and area required at plot level for utility assets eg distribution substations.
- Run cost analysis and business plans
- Obtain approval from local authorities.
Key Points
ActivoGrid offers these services remotely.
ActivoGrid can undertake the design of power infrastructure in most of countries* if the necessary standards are available.
At our team we have extensive experience designing masterplan power infrastructure in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
